Back in 2010, Digital Next started its life as an online marketing agency specialising in SEO to unlock the true online potential of UK businesses. In this time, our growth has enabled us to acquire four offices across three different countries, so what could be more relevant than to showcase our new project for burger joint Hangar Number 4?

What is Hangar Number 4?

Hangar Number 4 is a quick service, high quality restaurant serving a variety of specialised burgers that are named after some of the most major cities around the world. The concept for the business name and theme was partially inspired by the design of the premises, which is shaped similar to an aircraft hangar.

Serving house ground steak burgers, freshly baked brioche buns, hand-cut chips, freshly made milkshakes and cookies baked in-house, Hangar Number 4 is a popular destination for young couples, group bookings and families with children. Coupled with this, there is a broad array of bottled beers, ciders and wines from around the world to perfectly complement their tantalisingly exciting food menu.

Owned by husband and wife team, Simon Grimes and Emma Catterall-Grimes, Hangar Number 4 opened in January 2015 as a result of their love for good food and travel. Their travel themed restaurant houses a section of a Cessna Citation II private jet, and has aircraft seating to give customers the opportunity to actually enjoy eating food on a plane! Not only this, but Simon and Emma both believe that to be a successful restaurant…

“…it is essential to serve top quality burgers that are made in-house from scratch. As such, with our methodology, we aim to become the top independent burger restaurant in the area through serving top quality food and drink, whilst in a unique and relaxed environment. People come to us for something different – there is nothing like this in the whole country.”

How did Digital Next help?

hangar number 4 website

We built a brand new responsive WordPress website to help them develop an online presence by providing them with a platform for growth and a personalised space to advertise their restaurant and menus. For their new site, we created a bespoke theme that was customised for Hangar Number 4 offering both Simon and Emma full control and simple management of the site, which was also installed with full social integration. This entire process, from initial talks to ‘go live’ date, took approximately 4 weeks and encompassed design, development, testing and bug fixing, before being unleashed into the digital landscape.

Here at Digital Next, we love to do that little bit extra for our clients in order to help unlock their true online potential. And in this case – to celebrate the launch of their new website – we agreed to a job swap for the day that would result in CEO, Mark Blackhurst, and Creative Marketing Executive, Ann-Christine Bee, testing their culinary skills through the creation (and subsequent devouring) of their burger of choice!

From this experience we wanted to be able to show that, at Digital Next, we perceive ourselves as an extension of our client’s team when we work with them and that was most-definitely the case here… so much so, that Simon and Emma offered Mark and Ann-Christine the chance to work until 10pm! Unfortunately though, they declined… but nonetheless, this was a great occasion and a superb opportunity to form a great relationship with our clients. After the burger making session, Simon passed across some excellent feedback stating that…

“Working with Digital Next has been a smooth process and our website is responsible for around 25% of our bookings via the enquiries form. The combined mobile and standard platforms give my customers all the information they need and the design is good too.”

“When Mark and AC came to try their hand at making burgers they did really well! The burgers looked and tasted great too!”
