As another year draws to a close and 2018 is only around the corner, we thought we’d take a look back at 2017 and all the exciting things that have happened here at Digital Next. From fresh faces to impressive results, taking part in events to winning awards, 2017 has been a year to remember for the team.

Impressive achievements

2017 has been a year of great achievements for the team and we’ve still got a lot more to come. This year has shown that we are capable of success on a huge scale and it’s only just the beginning for Digital Next.

We have made it into the Northern Tech 100 league table, which ranks the top 100 fastest growing tech companies in the North. Compiled through a partnership of Tech North, GP Bullhound and the Northern Tech Awards, the league table demonstrates just how influential the North is becoming.

For another huge achievement in 2017, we were shortlisted in the FSB Manchester & North Cheshire Awards earlier this year for 6 different categories. The FSB (Federation of Small Businesses) is an organisation that we’ve been associated with since the establishment of Digital Next, so it was a huge honour to have made the list. Imagine our excitement when we discovered that we had won the FSB Business of the Year (10-50 employees)! It was the first time we had entered this particular award ceremony, and it was judged by a panel of highly respected business people who were on the lookout for outstanding small businesses in the area.

This year, Digital Next became a Google Premier Partner. Receiving this status meant that we have demonstrated skills and expertise in AdWords, met Google’s ad spending requirements and delivered agency and client revenue growth. So, if you’re hoping to connect with a marketing agency that can boost your advertising campaign, being a Google Premier Partner means that we are the perfect fit to help you with your goals.

Exciting events

2017 was also the year that Digital Next were involved in some milestone events and exciting opportunities as a company. We launched our new website that was built and completed by the team themselves and has helped to solidify our brand as well as making it clear what services we offer to our clients.

Earlier in 2017 we were asked by Helen Tse MBE, a corporate lawyer, to comment on the issue of Brexit and what it means for business in a now published book called ‘Doing Business After Brexit’. The book covers a number of the issues raised by Brexit, from both legal and business perspectives. We were honoured to be a part of this and offer our own advice and outlook on what Brexit means for our industry.

Throughout the past 12 months, our COO Mark Blackhurst has been heavily involved in advising on the marketing course at Staffordshire University. Having gone to the university himself, it was a great opportunity to pass on knowledge the future generation who are hoping to break into the industry. A regular in the university’s lecture halls, Mark has been raising awareness to students of real-time marketing insights and helping to shape the next influx of digital marketers.

This year, Business Cloud held an event surrounding tech funding for businesses and Digital Next were invited to speak to an audience to offer key advice. The aim of the event was to assess the pros and cons of funding options, which is one of the main obstacles when it comes to tech companies’ growth. Our CEO Justin went down to the event and explained his own experience as well as giving tips to budding entrepreneurs.

Continuing a busy 2017, Justin was asked to judge at the NatWest GB Entrepreneur Awards. The awards celebrate successful entrepreneurs and business directors, recognising the hard work and stories behind British entrepreneurs; not just focusing on financial success. The awards are in its 5th year, and Justin shared the judging panel with a huge number of fellow influential entrepreneurs such as Hayley Parsons OBE, founder of GoCompare, and James Caan CBE. It was an honour for Digital Next to be represented at such an event.

A growing company

As well as all the external events and networking opportunities for the company, Digital Next has also seen huge internal success too. Our social media department is continuing to develop, bringing in great results for our clients. The service has seen a major boost in the last 12 months and receiving positive feedback from all our clients.

2017 has been a record year for revenue, both here in our UK office and across the world in Australia. Our Melbourne office is continuing to develop and comes on in leaps and bounds every single year.

To finish off what’s been a brilliant year for us, we have refurbished our offices to reflect our huge step forward. We now have a fully branded office space and a Digital Next meeting room that has been kitted out especially for client meetings and letting our personality shine through.

What’s next?

2018 is sure to be a year that builds further on this year’s successes. We are launching our multi-channel marketing approach, Spectrum, which allows us to work even more effectively with our clients and offer a whole service that can take businesses to the next level. Our video explains just a little about what you should expect from our great team.

So, keep your eye out for Digital Next as we’re heading into 2018 with a fresh perspective, creative ideas and an energised team ready to work with you on your marketing campaigns!
