At Digital Next we’re a close knit team of experts in our field, from SEO gurus to graphic designers. We’re always looking to help the next generation of digital marketers, which means we’re open to offering great opportunities to come and complete work experience with us to inspire young minds on their own career journeys.

Most recently, we’ve starting working with Cameron Fletcher, an 18-year-old from Manchester who wanted to get some experience in digital marketing during his gap year, before he starts university.

Tell us a bit about yourself Cameron!

“I’m about to start working with Digital Next for the next few months in my gap year. I’ve always had an interest from a young age in computers, and my studies have been focused around it. I have A Levels in Maths, Further Maths and Computer Science.”

What are your future plans?

“I plan to study Computer Science at university, and hoping that any skills I pick up at Digital Next will be useful. I’ve enjoyed spending time with friends during the summer, including a holiday to Spain, but now I’m ready to start spending more time on my programming skills. I enjoy writing Python scripts so that I don’t fall behind during my gap year.

Until university, I also want to travel and enjoy my time out of education as much as I can and use the time to take the gym more seriously. I’ve been going to the gym to lift weights about 4 times a week, and hope I can carry that on.”

We also welcome Auzia Khan, a student from Oldham Sixth Form College who is joining us on a 10-week work experience placement.

Over the next few weeks, the team at Digital Next will be showing Auzia and Cameron the ropes across areas like SEO, content marketing and web development. We’ll introduce them to how businesses can use digital marketing to further their success, and make sure they becomes more familiar with digital platforms.

Spending time with each department, Cameron and Auzia will quickly learn key skills including optimising content for SEO, carrying out technical website audits and much more. We hope this will help to give both of them a broad background in working in a digital environment, and the value it can bring to our range of clients.
