New ‘Fave People’ Feature Now Being Tested By Twitter

One of the most annoying problems that Twitter users experience is the difficulty of keeping up to date with all the Twitter accounts that are really important to them. If you follow lots of accounts it is often easy to overlook some important tweets among the thousands of tweets in your tweet stream.

Twitter are presently testing a new feature that should make life a little easier. Their new ‘Fave People’ timeline feature lets you keep track of your favorites and have them displayed as a separate group. Users can add those they wish to include as their favorites by tapping on the star icon on their favorites profile. Users can also choose to be alerted when their favorites tweet by adjusting their notification settings in their profile. While this feature is new it does appear to be an extension of Twitters existing ‘Lists’ feature that allows users to arrange users by labeled groups.

In common with the way the micro-blogging site usually works the ‘Fave People’ feature is undergoing testing by a small group of users before being made more widely available.

This is the latest in a series of exciting developments for Twitter. The site also recently began testing a major design overhaul.

The new look Twitter profiles  are now more similar in style to those on Google+ and Facebook while the tweet stream will now place greater emphasis on content cards and photos than previously.
